When you get a rescue request with the subject line "A19442011 needs rescue help today, 106.2 temp, vomiting, and diarrhea, more medical to come can you please help ASAP" how can you say no?

The little boy we have named Austin was in medical crisis due to his temp and symptoms (vomiting and diarrhea being symptoms for both distemper and parvo).  Austin needed out of the shelter to save his life, and he needed out of the shelter to possibly save many other dogs lives as even saying the word "distemper" or "parvo" in a shelter can set off panic of outbreaks.

The Pambulance was headed South to Miami to get Austin in 5PM traffic, and our friends at LeadER were put on notice we were incoming with a quarantine case and they let us know that Dr. Spahn was ready for Pam and Austin when they arrived.

Austin was immediately taken to isolation (separate HVAC and strict gown procedures) where he could be examined away from the rest of the patients.  He still had his IV port in from the shelter, but Dr. Spahn got him started on fluids, bloodwork to rule in our out parvo/distemper/other conditions, and x-rays to for any other issues that can be diagnosed with radiography.

We thank the shelter for reaching out for help for him, and have fingers and paws crossed that we can help Austin have the 2nd chance he so deserves.  We are back again to ask your help in making a doxie's dream come true to have the live, love and forever family each and every single dog deserves.

As always, even $1 get us closer to the funding finish line and even if you are not able to donate, we still invite you to share Austin's story as you never know whose heart you will touch <3 From all of us at DRSF, thank you for giving Austin a chance <3
