Jessica Hayes hasn't added a story.
Landon Hayes is a 13 year old from Magee, MS. He is passionate about many things in life including God, his family and friends, and baseball! He has a drive and determination that will not allow him to stop trying to be the very best that he can be! In February of 2015, Landon went to an All American tryout in Baton Rouge, LA! As his parents, this was actually just something that we wanted him to experience and allow him to be able to meet new friends and get the feel of a tryout setting! Well, Landon had other goals in mind and that drive that he has pushed him to give it all he had! He had a great time and he also produced some good numbers! The very next day after the tryout, Landon experienced his second arm injury within the last year and a half! The doctors determined that he had a growth plate fracture due to overuse (which doesn't surprise me because he literally never stops training and reaching for improvement)! He was forced to wear an immobilizer and take a 6-8 week break! You can only imagine how devastating that was for him. Here he is at the beginning of his 12u season and he couldn't even play baseball. Weeks went by, he began to count days, then hours and finally he was able to play again around the end of April. To be honest with you, I hadn't even thought anything else about that tryout other than at some point blaming the cold night for his arm injury before we finally found a diagnosis. He focused on the remainder of the season and his team began to slowly pick up where they left off finishing with a very good season behind them. We were scheduled for one last tournament, a World Series, in Orange Beach, AL. We were all preparing and anticipating for a great time there! Let me remind you, I haven't thought ANYTHING else about this tryout that was 4 months ago, but the day after Landon's 13th birthday, we received word that he was chosen from that tryout to make up a 15 man roster for the Southeast Region team to play at the USSSA All American Games in Orlando, FL. The games will be played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports beginning August 2-7, 2015. The Southeast is one of 8 regions that will be competing against each other during the week! Each region is comprised of 5-6 states who put together a 15 man roster for competition! Let me just say, rewards are SOOOOO much more amazing when you have no expectations involved. Landon has been on cloud 9 since he got the news and he gives thanks and glory to God first and foremost! It's been exciting to watch his humbled , determined spirit rejoice in this accomplishment. This is where you guys come into the picture! On behalf of Landon, we ask that you help us make this amazing opportunity a reality! All Landon wants to do is play baseball, and all we want to do is be able to provide him with that opportunity. We ask that you help us with any donations or sponsorships! We will be forever grateful for anything you feel lead to contribute. There is no amount too big or small! If you are able and chose to sponsor $100 or more, you will be listed as a sponsor for him! If you wish to donate in another form of payment, please contact Jessica at 601-316-5755. Again, we ask that you help us make this opportunity for him one to remember for a lifetime! Thank you all for your support and may God continue to bless you as you bless others!
