When I first met Robin Lim in Bali, I was anxious about my unplanned pregnancy, felt completely overwhelmed at the thought of motherhood.  She said some magic words to me, "The children you plan are God's gift to you.  But the children you don't plan are God's gift to the world." Tears welled up in my eyes, and for the first time in my pregnancy, I felt complete peace and love flow through me, knowing that I could and would embrace this journey into motherhood.

Many women around the world are not blessed to have access to healthcare, family or even proper nutrition throughout pregnancy and birth.  My own pregnancy experience made me realize the importance of supporting mothers in this precious and vulnerable time.

Robin Lim is the founder of Bumi Sehat, and believes that "Every baby's first breath on Earth could be one of peace and love. Every mother should be healthy and strong. Every birth could be safe and loving. But our world is not there yet."  Bumi Sehat is dedicated to giving quality healthcare to mothers and babies, in impoverished and disaster areas in Indonesia where it would otherwise be impossible.

This summer, Bumi Sehat has provided Lombok where EARTHQUAKES AS LARGE AS 7.0 IN MAGNITUDE WITH HUNDREDS OF AFTERSHOCKS HAVE BEEN STRIKING THE ISLAND OF LOMBOK, BALI’S CLOSEST NEIGHBOURING ISLAND, DESTROYING HOMES, SCHOOLS, AND HOSPITALS.

Over 42,000 families in Lombok and East Bali have been left homeless in the aftermath. The weather in upcountry Lombok has become cold, rainy and windy, people are without shelter, there is no electricity and potable water is running out. Hundreds of people have died and the injured need help.

Bumi Sehat Foundation helping to bring much needed relief to the survivors, and as of end of August 2018 had treated 942 patients.

Most recently, SEPTEMBER 28TH AT JUST AFTER 5PM, AN EARTHQUAKE MEASURING 7.5 ON THE RICHTER SCALE, AND SUBSEQUENT TSUNAMI, DEVASTATED THE PALU (POPULATION 350,000) AND DONGGALA (POPULATION 300,000) REGIONS OF SULAWESI, INDONESIA.

Since that Friday, 27 earthquakes over 5.0 and dozens more aftershocks, have continued to destroy the region. Buildings still standing are unstable. The sandy soil in the region is giving way to liquefaction.

Bumi Sehat is working to bring help to the people of Sulawesi.

My aim is to raise $5,000 to donate to Bumi Sehat to help with their most pressing need: Operational costs, especially staffing costs of midwives.  These incredible midwives work tirelessly in difficult conditions to support new mothers, on very modest salaries.
My DUE date for my own little one, 2 January 2019, is my target date to raise these funds.  My hope is that as my little mini grows, so will the contributions to this campaign.

Your help is needed, so please donate generously!

Thank you, from depth of my own heart, from the heart of my tiny little one inside, and from all the hearts of mothers and babies that will beat stronger because of your contribution.
