                                        (For Artists with Special Needs/Abilities)

"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."     -  Aristotle

My name is Veronica. I’m an artist. My husband, who is a Physical Therapist, introduced me to the young man in the video above. When I learned of Justin’s story and experienced his work, I felt a driving desire to assist him and others artists with special needs and abilities to find a way to share their creations and inspirational stories with a broader audience. I believe that we all have art inside of us; it’s just a matter of finding the right medium to release it. Justin and others like him have done that in a way that can enrich and motivate us to improve and beautify the world in our own way.

My husband and I have dedicated a commercial space on Main Street in Murray, Utah for the Doué Art Gallery. Doué, which means “gifted” in French, is a perfect description of the artists who will be showcased in the gallery.

Our crowd-sourcing campaign is designed with the hope that we will be able to raise the necessary funds to convert the space to a gallery and/or at least develop a website that will both allow a broader audience to purchase the gallery’s artwork, and help other gifted artists to submit their work for review and consideration in the gallery. Anything raised above our fundraising goal will go into reducing artist costs of framing and display.

With your help, we are confident that the Doué Art Gallery will receive national attention by proving to be a resource for hundreds of adaptive artists to let their light shine through the showcasing of their work.

If you are aware of another artist living with a chronic health condition or who has special needs/abilities, and who might be interested in showing their artwork in the gallery, please contact us at
