Black Farmers USA Legal Defense Fund hasn't added a story.
Black Farmers Legal Defense Fund is a 501 c(3) non-profit organization located in Buena Vista, Georgia.
The purpose of this organization is to provide assistance to thousands of black farmers who have suffered discriminatory acts while farming and/or attempting to farm, while holding loans or attempting to get loans, from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Did You Know?
- Since the 1900’s, black farmers have lost more than 13 million acres, due discrimination by the USDA.
- The Office of Civil Rights has over 14,000 unresolved discrimination complaints.
- Black farmers discrimination complaints have been in the Office of Civil Rights since the 1980’s.
Seventeen years after the historic class action lawsuit, entitled Pigford vs. Glickman, many black farmers are worse off than before. Black farmers built this country, although, when we took a stand, against the injustices that were inflicted upon us by the US Government, we were accused of fraud by members of congress, the media and even some in the Black community.

Why This Involves You?

- Black farmers provided living accommodations for Freedom Riders.
- Black farmers provided protection for Freedom Riders.
- Black farmers provided their property to bail jailed Freedom Riders.
Black farmers were able to provide such protections for Freedom Riders because they owned their land.
