We need to help our residents who are struggling during this crisis

Big Bend  is beloved by Texans for its beautiful landscapes and eclectic people, but the COVID-19 pandemic is devastating this region’s economy and straining its limited resources. Big Bend Citizens Alliance, a non-profit organization with volunteers from Alpine, Terlingua and Lajitas, started the Big Bend COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund to help Brewster County residents recover from these hardships by offering grants for citizens in need.

The impact of Covid-19 on our residents

More than a quarter of our county's population depends on the tourism and service industry for income. Small businesses, bartenders, restaurant and hotel workers, tour guides, park employees, hairdressers, massage therapists, retail salespeople, artists, musicians, and college students are all struggling to make ends meet. An unexpected quarantine or illness can be a devastating blow to the finances of people who are already struggling.

Donate Today and feel the joy of giving:

Thanks for setting up this fund for our community!

It's the least I can do to help the special people in a very special place survive in these odd times.

100% of funds raised will go to local organizations that meet basic needs or directly to residents who fall through gaps in other programs, such as service workers who still have to pay rent while they shelter-in-place to stop the spread of the virus.

Make a difference in the Big Bend

Community-driven grants to help local residents.

"This means so much to me. Every little bit helps and I deeply appreciate the assistance of my community. As time goes by I will do my best to pay forward this assistance."

"We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the help. We have never before in our lives needed to receive help from anyone. We usually are the ones giving help to our employees, family, friends, and even strangers."

We hope everyone who loves the Big Bend will help our region recover from these unprecedented crises by supporting our relief fund. If you cannot afford to give there are other ways to help by volunteering or sharing our message. Please Follow us on Facebook
