Kelvin is a 40-year-old father of five children, ages 5 to 15. He works nights to provide for his family, and even with the demands of his own responsibilities, he has found ways to help other family members by working to build homes for them, too. He is a man who works hard and cares deeply about the people he loves.

But now, Kelvin is the one who needs help.

When his wife left him and their five children, Kelvin lost the home he had worked so hard to build for his family. Because the house stood on his wife’s family property, he had no choice but to walk away from everything he had put into it.

With nowhere else to turn, Kelvin and his five children moved into his mother’s small, two-bedroom home. Seven people now share a space that offers little room for a father and his growing family to start over.

When we met Kelvin, he was overwhelmed with grief. With tears in his eyes, he told us his story and asked for help finding a home for his children. It was heartbreaking to see a man who had worked so hard for others now facing such a difficult situation of his own.

Kelvin has spent his time working to support his children and helping other family members build homes. Now, we have an opportunity to come alongside him.

Driven by a desperate need to support his family, he purchased a tiny, unbuildable plot of land right by the river in Magiolo. Despite the impossible terrain, he is doing everything in his power to care for his precious family.

A man who has helped others build their future deserves a chance to rebuild his own.

Our hope is to help Kelvin and his five children have a safe, stable home where they can begin again. A place where his children can have room to grow, where they can feel secure, and where their father can look toward the future with hope instead of uncertainty.

We cannot change everything Kelvin has been through, but together, we can help change what comes next.
