The Hotel for Homeless Dogs hasn't added a story.
We try to save these posts for when we are very desperate. Sadly, today – we need a miracle. Meet Snow and Stitch. Although they may seem like an unlikely pair, these two just love each other.
These two were tied outside together at a trailer park. AC went to the trailer and found Snow, Stitch, and 4 small dogs. The owner of the trailer had been hospitalized. AC contacted family members and were told that her grandmother had been in the hospital for two weeks. They had no food and very little water. They took the 4 little ones and left Snow and Stitch behind.
Snow and Stitch were starved, and Snow was dehydrated. She could barely walk when she arrived and now will walk most of the field. Her teeth are worn down, but she can eat dry food with wet mixed in. Snow is believed to be 14. She has a spinal issue called Spondylosis. A form of arthritis and bone spurs which also has narrowing spaces in her discs. This issue will require pain management.
As if all of this was not bad enough, last week – things took a turn for the worse for Snow. She was out for a walk when another dog attacked her. The attack caused both dogs to fall down a hill – that was a four-foot drop. Snow had to have emergency surgery and have her tail removed due to the bite. Not to mention, she is so frail, the fall has just taken a huge toll on her mentally and physically.
Snow loves attention. Nothing makes her happier than to have someone pet and love on her. Stitch loves people and loves to play with friendly dogs. He is just a little riot. I mean look at the little legs on him!! Snow has not been spayed and due to her age and condition, cannot be. They are both fully vaccinated, and Stitch has been neutered. While they are both dog friendly, Snow is very timid with other dogs due to her condition.
They are in a facility in Arkansas that has limited resources. They want was is best for both dogs and have considered having to separate them. They are just truly desperate to get them into a home where they can finally know love. That said, we believe very strongly in the bond that two dogs have. These two have been through SO much, how can we take them away from each other? That is where all of you come in! We need a forever home for these two. We don’t know how much time Snow has left, but we do know we want her to have the best life she can have, and we want her to be with her best friend.
The first step to get them into their forever home is to get these two to New England. Snow cannot travel via a traditional transport. We have found her a private transport. Can you please support us and help us get Snow to RI? These two deserve every but of time they have left together. <3
