My name is Roberta Pardo. I am the owner/creator of Urban Walls Brazil, a business that promotes the importance of diversity in our communities and partners with socially engaged organizations to advocate for their cause and bring people together.

Through our UWB EDUCATION project, we are connecting South River High School in Edgewater, MD, USA with E.M.E.F. Maria Jose C. Moraes in Vitoria, ES, Brazil for a unique cultural experience using ART and EDUCATION to talk about SUSTAINABILITY.

The project is divided into 4 phases:

Education ( the dialogue will be about the merits and adversities found in both countries and the importance of sustainability for the future of our planet), Mural Design and Book Campaign (the design of the mural should inspire solutions for local sustainable problems),  Mural Painting and finally, Book delivery (books will be exclusive UWB releases, talking about all kinds of sustainable issues) and ideas exchange (students will be able to share their experiences and discoveries about the different cultures and how to become more sustainable).

Through this fundraiser, we will ensure one book will be donated to EVERY SINGLE ONE of the 700 students at the E.M.E.F. Maria Jose C. Moraes.

The students at South River High School will receive a certificate issued by the Brazilian Educational  Organization of Vitoria for participating in this international program.

We are ALL connected one way or another. We are ALL part of ONE planet. We are striving for kids to understand that it is everyone's responsibility to work towards a more sustainable life. We believe that we can only accomplish sustainability through education.   Brazil's school children's poor proficiency in reading severely hampers this goal. We hope to encourage the habit of reading and empower kids in Brazil to become more worldly.

We are credited as a partner of The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
