Catherine Miller hasn't added a story.
Over a decade ago, non-surgical cosmetic procedures are only limited to facials. Now, hundreds of treatments are available to treat various skin imperfections. There's botox, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, dermal filers, electrolysis, laser hair removal and many more. The results are fast and less painful. Just the thought of getting rid of the winkles, blemishes, acne, unwanted hair and large pores without going under the knife would make any woman allot a budget for beauty 's sake.
Achieving a look ten years younger is now possible with non-surgical procedures, and a medical aesthetician can help you with that. An aesthetician is sort of an all-around beautician, even going through nail technician training to ensure that all areas of beauty are covered. Undergoing these treatments require a lot of homework though.
Here are some tips you need to consider before getting non-surgical aesthetics.
1. Do your own research before getting any cosmetic procedures.
Know what treatments you think you need and acquaint yourself with the possible risks. Any medical procedure has side effect and you need to set realistic expectations. Be knowledgeable on certain procedures that you may encounter on your search and evaluate if you really need certain treatments.
2. Look for a medical aesthetician with promising credentials and experience.
Never settle for an aesthetic physician assistant because most procedures require an expert, someone who really went through beautician school. Stay away from pretentious experts who claim that offer the best services. There's always a way to validate their claims.
3. Visit the website of the doctor or clinic you want to have non-surgical procedures with.
There are available reviews for you to read on but do not be fooled with too good to be true testimonials. If you are unsure of what website to look for, ask for reference. Cosmetic treatments enthusiasts have forums which recommend physicians and their specialties. Take hint from their opinion as it might greatly help you choose the right dermatologist.
4. Once you have chosen an aesthetician, call the office to verify credentials, expertise, trainings attended and years of experience.
After gathering important information, ask your state medical board to confirm the physician's license and to double check too if he has pending lawsuits. You can never trust any professional who is indicted for any professional malpractice.
5. Once you meet the aesthetic specialist, ask important questions like:
- How many procedures in a year does he perform a specific treatment?
- What is the approximate complication rate?
- What treatment does he advise and why?
- How long would it take before you see the result or benefit of the procedure?
- What are the potential risks?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages if you choose other options?
- Are the products used approved by the FDA?
- How much pain will you experience during and after the procedure?
- What beauty tips will he recommend after the treatment?
- How frequently should you come back for a follow-up appointment?
Choosing the right doctor and the right treatment for you entails a lot of responsibility. It also does not stop there because you need to be prepared and ask yourself what results you want to achieve. Are you financially prepared? Even though non-surgical procedures are more affordable than the invasive cosmetic surgeries, you still need to determine if you can afford the series of treatments for the sake of beauty. It's important to set realistic expectations too and make sure that you have the time for the needed healing process. Above all, you need to understand the benefits and risks of the treatments you want to have.
