When you create your campaign, one of the last choices you have to make is whether your campaign is for a Personal cause or for an Organization.

This page explains the difference between the two types of FundRazr campaigns.

Important Note: To create an Organization campaign, you need to be an Authorized Officer of the Organization you’re raising money for. Click here to find out what that means.

Personal Campaigns

Personal FundRazr campaigns are for Personal Use Only – For people who want to raise money for themselves, a family member, a friend or a personal cause, or for individuals who want to raise money on behalf of a charity or other organization.

When people give money to your Personal FundRazr campaign, the money is deposited into your personal PayPal or Stripe account*Note: The “Created by” line on Personal campaigns will link to the Personal Facebook Profile or Google Account of the Campaign Owner.

Organization Campaigns

Organization Campaigns are reserved for Authorized Officers of Registered non-profit, school, political or other organizations.

When people give money to an Organization FundRazr campaign, the money is deposited into the Organization’s PayPal or Stripe account. The Organization’s PayPal or Stripe account needs to be a Verified Business PayPal account, and the Business Name on the PayPal account needs to match the Official Name of the Organization as listed in FundRazr.*Note: The “Created by” line at the top of Organization campaigns will link to the Homepage URL provided by the Campaign Owner during the setup process. The Campaign Owner’s Personal Facebook Profile or Google Account is not publicly attached to the Organization’s campaigns.

Are you an Authorized Officer of the Organization you’re raising funds for?

An Authorized Officer is a member of a business entity who has been formally empowered by that entity to conduct business on its behalf, make financial decisions on its behalf, and to enter into borrowing arrangements with financial institutions.

Generally, the role of Authorized Officer is limited to these types of positions within the Organization – Owner, President/Chairperson, Treasurer, Vice President, Board Member, etc.

To use FundRazr as an Organization, an Authorized Officer MUST have the authority to make financial decisions for the Organization.

If you don’t know whether or not you’re an Authorized Officer, then you’re probably not one.

If you are an Authorized Officer

You can simply create an Organization campaign and raise money as your Organization.

If you’re not an Authorized Officer

You need to create a Personal Campaign.
