How does the deadline work?

Our Deadline feature gives Campaign Owners the option to set an end date for their fundraising efforts, letting contributors know that time is running out and their contribution should be made ASAP.

Here are a few of the questions we think you might have. If you have other questions, you can reach out to us through the Support button in the bottom right corner of your screen. We’re always happy to help.  


When does my campaign start counting down?

Your campaign starts counting down to your deadline when you launch your campaign. FundRazr will not automatically launch your campaigns for you. 


Can I change my deadline?

  • If you’re using our All or nothing funding method, then you can change your deadline at any time before you launch your campaign. After you launch your campaign, your deadline is locked and cannot be changed. 

  • If you’re using our Keep it all funding method (most people use this one), then you can change your deadline at any time!

How will I remember my deadline?

We’ll remind you about your approaching deadline and help you get the most benefit from it. We’ll send you a Coaching email and we’ll also post a note in your campaign’s Admin Panel:

What happens when my deadline passes?

  • If you’re using our All or nothing funding method, your campaign will Finish.

  • If you’re using our Keep it all funding method (most people use this one), then don’t worry if you need more time when your deadline passes, your campaign will not stop accepting contributions until you manually Finish your campaign.

What happens if I don’t reach my fundraising goal?

  • If you’re using our All or nothing funding method, then as the name implies, if you don’t reach all of your goal, then you keep nothing. Your contributors won’t be charged anything, and you won’t get to keep any money (you also won’t be charged any fees).

  • If you’re using our Keep it all funding method (most people use this one), then don’t worry. You always keep all the money you raise regardless of the deadline, fundraising goal, or amount raised.

Do I need to set a deadline?

That depends:

  • If you’re using our All or nothing funding method, then you need to set a deadline.

  • If you’re using our Keep it all funding method, then you don’t need to set a deadline and your campaign can run indefinitely.
