All contributions to campaigns are processed by either Stripe or PayPal
The campaign owner has the choice to use one or both of the payment processors if they are located within supported regions.
While many regions of the world are supported by both payment processors, many regions and countries are unable or not allowed to use online crowdfunding services for their causes. These restrictions were put in place by the payment processors and the local governments.
Note: A region may be able to use PayPal for personal or local business use, but this does not mean they are able to use PayPal’s international checkout services. You will have to contact PayPal for more information if your account is shown as ‘Unable to accept payments’ or ‘Restricted’.
You can see if your region is supported by our payment processors below:
- Stripe is supported in 35+ countries worldwide. see countries
- PayPal is supported in more than 200+ countries. see countries
You do not need a PayPal account or a Stripe account to make a contribution to a campaign.*
Note: In order to accept payments via credit card or debit card through PayPal, the Campaign Owner must enable “Guest payments” for their PayPal account.
We cannot forward the funds raised to a different payment processor of your preference.
Since both PayPal and Stripe send and receive the funds on a campaign’s behalf, we cannot forward or change the account the funds are received by. If you have a different payment provider that you like to use, we cannot send the funds into these accounts for you. The funds must be sent and received either by PayPal or Stripe at this time.
