Join us for a timely conversation with Get Loud, Arkansas Executive Director, Kathy Webb, as she talks about the upcoming midterm elections, the impact your vote has on the future of Arkansas, and how you can get more involved on National Voter Registration Day on September 15th!
Did you know Arkansas ranks at the bottom on almost all voter registration and participation metrics? Get Loud, Arkansas!, founded by Joyce Elliott, aims to change that by helping Arkansans register, encouraging them to vote, and offering civic education and engagement opportunities.
Get Loud AR was started in response to AR’s position at the bottom or near the bottom of most civic engagement metrics-number of citizens registered, percentage of citizens who vote, and a lack of civic participation. Led by former Sen. Joyce Elliott until mid-2024, Get Loud’s mission is to change these metrics by helping citizens register, encouraging get out the vote (GOTV) activities and by providing civic education and engagement opportunities for youth and adults. With National Voter Registration Day on September 15, and midterms looming, this topic is timely and important. GLA will participate in 15 events on the 15th.
Kathy Webb, Executive Director of GLA will share statistics and plans the non-partisan non-profit has for the next two months and beyond. One of GLA’s Summer Youth Ambassadors, Sanjana Koneru, will accompany Webb and will share her experiences talking to her peers and why her voice is important.
