Hearts Hope hasn't added a story.
Poor Gandalf was attacked on (11/1/2013) while playing in his own yard. Gandalf is a 4 month Pekingese puppy and very much loved by his mommy (Angie) and family.
Today as most pretty days Gandalf was enjoying some outdoor play time. A lot of the time he likes to watch mommy doing some yard work. She rakes the leaves and he gets to tear down the piles. He loves this so much and living in the country with almost an acre of yard to run and play in there is never a dull moment.
Gandalf is an only child and he never sees any other dogs around so Gandalf was just going about play time as usual.
However, today something terrible happen. A large stray dog not sure of the breed or even where he came from came running into Gandalf yard and attacked him. Ripping out his eyes. Hearing him scream Mom ran toward Gandalf but before she could get to him the damage had been done. Scared and crying she picked him up rapped him in a towel and rushed him to the vet.
The vet took him directly into surgery. They managed to manipulate one of his eyes back into its socket but the other was torn out so badly that had to sew it closed to hold it in and are not sure he will ever regain sight in that eye again. Gandalf got sent home with his family on a lot of medications and a cone to prevent him from scratching at his eyes and is due to go back every couple of days for a checkup.
Gandalf and Angie live on a limited income and this is not something she expected to happen. Therefore, when I was notified of this I immediately started this fund raiser for her. When I explained what I was going to do she (Angie) replied no don’t do that, I will manage, there maybe someone who needs it more. Well that only made me wants to help out even more.
So please if you can help by even donating $1 please do so. 100% of all donations will go to the vet directly.
