My heart goes out to those whose lives have been destroyed by being trapped in the sex trafficking trade. This is the third year I will be climbing three mountains in three days in August to raise funds to help rescue victims. Freedom8848 is once again coordinating the efforts of the volunteers. As you read these words, an estimated 50 million people are living in slavery. Stripped of their safety, dignity and liberty. This is nearly 1 in 150 humans. Together we raise funds and awareness for our partner organizations as they fight sexual exploitation by Preventing trafficking, Rescuing victims, and Restoring survivors. | The ChallengeThe massive scale of this problem can feel like an overwhelming mountain of injustice, but just like Mount Everest, towering at 8,848 meters, it can be conquered. Our mission is to advocate, restore purpose and create trusting relationships with those caught in the sex trade, exploited or at risk of being trafficked.
At HER Victory, we take a comprehensive approach to supporting women who have experienced or at risk of exploitation, addiction, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. We are situated in the community of Forest Lawn, located on one of Calgary’s last known prostitution strolls. Our outreach location is a haven, providing a safe and nurturing environment where women can find respite and support on their journey towards healing and empowerment.
We believe in meeting these women where they are, both physically and emotionally. This means our outreach is hands-on and proactive. We don't just wait for them to come to us; we actively seek out those in need, building relationships based on trust and respect. We never know what the day will bring!
Once we connect with these women, we go beyond providing immediate assistance. We take the time to listen to their stories, understanding the unique challenges they have faced and the trauma they have experienced. This deep understanding allows us to tailor our support to their specific needs, whether it's access to immediate needs, counseling services, addiction treatment, or advocacy.
Our ultimate goal is to guide these women towards a path of healing and recovery. We provide a safe and supportive environment where they can rebuild their lives and work towards a brighter future. While the journey towards healing may be long and challenging, we stand by these women every step of the way, offering hope and encouragement.
Through our work, we have seen firsthand the transformative power of compassion and support. We have witnessed women who, despite facing unimaginable hardships, have found the strength to say, "I'm done" and take the first steps towards a new beginning. We are committed to walking alongside these women, offering them the support and resources they need to reclaim their lives and rewrite their stories.
