They come through the shelter and are given numbers not names. Numbers make it seem less personal, less than a life. A1966733 didn’t have many options to ever have a name again as he was a stray in the shelter. Being a stray in a shelter was bad enough, but he also had a curious black mass on his chest that would all but guarantee that he would be passed over for other dogs for those precious few who go to the shelter to adopt.

That is where we step in...to us they are all perfect and beautiful and deserve a chance.  They all deserve a name and medical care to treat wherever it is that a former “family” failed them on to address.

We has no way to know if the mass on his chest was nothing or an aggressive form of cancer, but this is inconsequential to us.  Everyone deserves a chance and you make it possible of us to give them.

A rescue hold was placed on the boy we have named Pluto and this afternoon the Pambulabce came for him to give him his chance.  Dr Oldenhoff and the team at LeadER had made room for him in their schedule to have the best veterinary dermatologist in the area look at whatever it was he had going on and hopefully get Pluto started on his “happily ever after” .

Will you help us be there for Pluto and the next sweet soul who is “just a number” that we know is not far behind? As always, every dollar counts toward the funding finish line and makes it possible for us to make Doxie dreams come true!
