BC SPCA Wild ARC Centre hasn't added a story.
Life's a Hoot!
Fluffy, OwlMan and Rafter are a family of owls trapped in a house destroyed by a falling tree in the recent windstorm. In their panic to try to escape they hurt themselves bashing into the windows of the attic where they roosted.
They are hurt and scared but with time (a few weeks) and some extra special care from the wonderful folks at the Wild ARC Center they can be returned to the wild. Until then we need to feed and care for them. That costs money - as much as $30 / day.
Please help us take care of them.
This project is authorized by the BC SPCA. All funds are safely managed centrally and tax receipts are issued for contributions over $10.
About Us
Welcome to BC SPCA’s Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC). We are open 365 days a year to help sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals. Wild ARC is the only wildlife rehabilitation centre on southern Vancouver Island. We treated 3,013 animals last year from all over the region, helping them recover and return to the wild.
Wildlife rehabilitation
Wild animals can get sick and injured just like our pets. It is illegal for a member of the public to care for wildlife, but we all have a shared responsibility to ensure the welfare of wild animals.
Injured, orphaned, sick and oiled wildlife need our help and we can and should help save them — especially when human activity is to blame. Wildlife rehabilitation contributes to the conservation and protection of wild animals. Learn how you can support wildlife rehabilitation.
