The Chico Air Museum is in a race to raise $25K to pay for construction of an exciting new museum entrance and refurbishment to our 75 year old WW2 hangar. If the August 1st deadline is met, EVERY DOLLAR will be MATCHED by an anonymous donor.

Dear Friends,

Have you ever had the chance to double your money without gambling? Turn a $50 dollar bill into a $100? Not likely! Yet that is what you can do by simply donating to the new, amazing, impressively large, historically rich, surprisingly detailed, exceedingly sentimental, and miraculously volunteer-built Chico Air Museum! Yes, that Franklin can turn into a Grant..….poof! Just like that…it’s almost magic.

Except it’s not.  We are just incredibly fortunate to have an anonymous donor who made our fundraising project a whole lot easier: if we raise $25,000 by end of June, he will match it dollar for dollar!

This $50k is earmarked for the completion of a new, 21st century entrance and parking improvements designed by one of Chico's most outstanding architects. We have had thousands of visitors of all ages since our opening in March, and this structure will ensure they can continue into the future.  Visitors will literally step from today into the past, where this 1941 vintage hangar played a crucial role in training WWll pilots at Chico Airfield. And that’s just the beginning…!

Never has a community project like this become so beloved in such a short of time: the K-12 school field trips, the busloads of seniors from local retirement centers, and everyone in between all enjoy learning the rich aviation history and science of flight. The museum is free of charge to everyone, thanks to thousands of volunteer hours past and present.  It is debt-free thanks to hundreds of community donors, with no paid staff or government funding.

The Chico Air Museum has been called “one of the crown jewels of Chico” and we couldn’t agree more. Nothing will say it better than the proposed entrance we need, which can be viewed at:

www.chicoairmuseum.org. Click on "Kickoff" tab. Check it out, and I hope you’ll be part of the magic!

Sincerely,

Brian Baldridge,

President, Chico Air Museum
