Unite this World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day every 4th February is a day when the world unites to raise cancer awareness, improve education and inspire action from everybody. We know that every single one of us has the ability to make a difference, large or small, and that together we can make real progress in reducing the global impact of cancer.
This 4 February, we call on you, whoever and wherever you are to play your part in creating a cancer-free world.

The time to act is now
Every year, about 10 million people die from cancer with over half of these deaths occurring in some of the least developed parts of the world. A lack of access to prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care means that many people are dying unnecessarily. Without urgent action, deaths from cancer are expected to rise to 13 million within the next decade.
As COVID-19 disrupts and delays essential cancer services around the world, this will only add to the growing cancer burden and place a further strain on individuals, families, communities and health systems.
However, we all have the power to make a difference. Though raising your voice and calling on governments to support and fund prevention, detection and treatment programmes in every country for everyone, you can help to save millions of lives.
Your money will help support the fight against cancer
Funds raised from the World Cancer Day Solidarity Challenge will benefit the Union for International Cancer Control in supporting the global cancer community.
With close to 1,200 member organisations in almost every country in the world, UICC unites and strengthens the voices of the international cancer community, ensures cancer remains a priority on the global health agenda, and through opportunities like training and fellowships, gives cancer professionals the best chance of doing a better job tomorrow than they already do today.
