Shona Ortega hasn't added a story.
Hi my name is Shona and this is a picture of my friend Scott Kaiser. I have known Scott for over fifty years. He has been a life-long friend. He is a father, brother to many and a son. Scott's caring and giving nature have made him an endearing friend to people all around the world. Scott has been a crusader for the down trodden and ex-convicts. He is has been there to help friends and family when they had no where else to turn for finances or shelter. He never asks for help.
Recently, Scotts ranch was devastated by the massive wildfires that have destroyed and continue to destroy hundreds of Californians homes and businesses. Together with his son, Max, we have started this campaign for Scott. He did not ask us to do this and does not know of this campaign.
On Saturday, August 4, 2018, Lake Sustainable Organics, a 22 acre ranch located in Clearlake Oaks, was devastated by California's fast spreading and biggest wildfire ever. The wide-spread fire prompted mandatory evacuations in Clearlake Oaks neighborhoods.
Scott Kaiser, owner of Lake Sustainable Organics ranch, lost his home, his dog Layla, employee structures, his crop and capital equipment as a result of the fire. Scott has been a long-time humanitarian, giving back to the Lake County Community by hiring ex-convicts, assisting them in returning to society, taking in the homeless, and offering destitute individuals and families jobs and a safe refuge.
Scott has owned Lake Sustainable Organics for over six years and has worked tirelessly to have his licensing in place for his cannabis crop to be totally legalized. Scott has been in the cannabis industry his entire life, he has fought hard for bringing cannabis out of the shadows. His ranch promoted biodiversity, supported the ecosystem, protected wildlife, grew organic fruits and vegetables and supported the wetlands.
As a result of this devastating fire, Scott has lost entire cannabis crop for the season, his livelihood, his dog Layla, and much of his belongings. As well as , the homes and belongings of his employees. Funds raised will go directly to Scott to help alleviate the impact of the fire and rebuild a ranch that is and has been dedicated to the good of the community and environment.
After many hardships we hope to help out a brother and friend to get back on his feet again. Many thanks for your donations and support, Max and Shona
