The past few years have made us truly appreciate all that we can provide with face-to-face learning. Having tools for small group instruction and high-interest books to choose from, increases learning engagement for all of our readers.
Your support will help us accomplish even more with our young readers. Using a small group set of magnetic phoneme tiles that are easy for small hands to manipulate, students can build words and increase fine motor skills. We can extend this practice by supplying our growing readers with high-quality decoding and phoneme cards, as well as increasing our selection of high-interest beginning chapter books.
As class and team sizes have changed and teachers move around the district, many of us enter our new rooms without all the materials that our peers have collected over time. Both of us have joined a new grade at a new school this year and found through practice what we feel are successful tools from our peer practice.

Founded in 1988, the Beaverton Education Foundation raises money to provide hands-on innovative academic enrichment and advancement programs & projects that go beyond normal school funding at all Beaverton public schools and is a 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit organization. BEF mobilizes community resources to fund innovative classroom projects, summer and after-school programs.
In the event that this project does not reach its goal or exceeds its goal, BEF may apply the funds received to another similar project.
