With Increased costs, many families struggle to purchase the supplies their kids need to head back to school every year. Help The Mustard Seed purchase good quality school supply kits and new running shoes, so that every child has a fair start.
Join the challenge to walk, run or hike 200K over the month of June (as an individual or as part of a team) and raise $200 in pledges. You can track your activity in whatever app you use (e.g., Strava, MapMyRun, etc.) and upload photos of your journey and/or your activity log to your profile page.
Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 towards the purchase of new good quality runners as part of our back-to-school Fair Start for Kids program.
Registration is FREE! The top three fundraisers will receive prizes, and everyone who raises at least $200 will be entered into a draw for additional prizes.

- Tea at The Empress, Fairmont Empress: $95 per person, total for two $190
- Ten Fifteen Beauty Gift Pack (Kevin Murphy & Davines hair products, Hempz body lotion): $155
- Frontrunners Gift Certificate: $150
- Flying Squirrel Jump Passes: 4 jump passes at $25 each, totaling $100
- Trek Solstice Helmet: $95

Q. Is there a fundraising requirement?
A. When you register for Soles for Souls, you are signing up for a fundraising mission. Your goal is to raise $200 but every bit helps!
Q. Why 200K and $200?
A. $200 is an estimate of the minimum it would take to purchase new good quality shoes and a full set of school supplies.
Q. When/Where is the event taking place?
A. This is a virtual event for the month of June, where you are challenged to raise $200 when you walk, hike or run, either as an individual or team.
Q. What are the fundraising goals for a team?
A. We'd like you to aim for $200 per person in the team, but every bit helps.
Q. How many people can be in a team?
A. No limit to number of registrants in your team.
Q. How do I track my kilometers?
A. STRAVA or MapMyRun are commonly used FREE apps, feel free to use any app of your choice to track.
Q. Who can take part?
A. Persons of all ages and abilities.
Q. Can I make or receive cash donations?
A. This process is a bit more involved, if you receive cash donations you can simply pay these online through your fundraising page using your credit card. Input your sponsors contact information for a tax receipt if they donate $20 or more.
Q. Can I make or receive donations via mail?
A. Yes. Just mail in your cheque donation, do not mail cash to: 625 Queens Ave., Victoria, BC V8T 1L9 Ensure you have added, if applicable any individual or team you are supporting. Please mail in no later than June 30, 2024 so your donations are part of the final tally.
Q. Are there prizes?
A. Yes, we have prizes for the top three fundraisers, and draw prizes for everyone that completes the challenge by walking, running or hiking 200K and raising $200.
