The district's Safe Routes To School team has  the opportunity to teach pedestrian and bike safety skills at all Beaverton's elementary schools.  Because we only have a brief time to impart this potentially life-saving information to each student, we have created a highly-engaging curriculum that gives kids a chance to practice their safety skills in a low-stakes environment that mimics a real-world experience.

We created Scooter Town to capture students’ interest and imagination.  Scooter Town is Pedestrian Safety Experience for K-5 Students - complete with a school, library, post office, police station, market, cafe, bike shop, park and flower shop. But, to make Scooter Town the exciting experience it is designed to be, we will need to purchase the necessary materials to transform each school gym we visit into an interactive town. That's where you come in!

• Three mobile sets of durable materials that can be reused for multiple years.

• Additional set of materials for preschool and students in special education classrooms.
