Our Lego WeDo 2.0 sets have been a great addition to our Technology class, but we are in need of adding to our kits to improve learning. The kits are designed to be shared between two students, and the last couple of years we have been in need of adding three sets to make that ratio. Our current kits are used by students in 3rd through 5th grade, currently 283 students, and will be going into our Makerspace to be also used by 2nd-grade students.

Lego WeDo 2.0 sets consist of Lego Bricks, a small battery powered motor, sensors, and require a free app that is downloaded to a device with Bluetooth capabilities. Students build a project following instructions from the app, then they are able to program the creation from the WeDo app.

Lego WeDo is a great introduction to basic coding in an interactive and collaborative way. Students enjoy working with the familiar bricks and find it exciting to be able to control their creations by dragging and dropping controls in the app. Many of the projects have learning objectives, such as robust buildings where students build an earthquake simulator using the kits or build a machine that sends signals using sounds. Once students are comfortable, there are scenarios that challenge students to come up with a build on their own to create a solution to a problem. Our goal with this fundraising project is to have enough kits to keep all students engaged in the building and programming of the Lego projects.

Thank you for considering donating to our Lego WeDo project.

Our goal:

We are looking to raise $606.00 to add three Lego WeDo 2.0 Core Sets and spare parts.

3 Core Sets $189.95 each =$569.85

3 WeDo Replacement Packs $11.95 for spare parts = $35.85

Total: $605.70
