Sexton Mountain Elementary striving readers need your help! Striving readers are K-3 readers working to build time-in-text and increase reading fluency with just-right leveled books .

Each week our striving readers visit Sexton Mountain (curbside or our Book Bus!) to pick up a new batch of just-right, leveled books. We know that books are magic you can hold in your hand - especially in our current world of digital learning. Unfortunately our collection of leveled books is woefully inadequate, both in overall number and in content. Our readers need access to more titles that are high interest and representative of our wonderfully diverse community.

To bring our collection up to date and ensure critical representation, we need to purchase more books for our 300 striving readers! Books books books! 

Specifically, we’re looking to purchase IRLA leveled books in the Yellow, Green, 1Blue, 2Blue and 1Red categories. We want to build a library of early leveled books that captivate our striving readers’ attention while also providing crucial mirrors and windows in text.
