Rethabile Mlotshwa is a young man whose world was devastated in a vicious racist attack two months ago. You might remember him as the #CoffinAssault man? A poor man to start with, he must now rebuild his life, his spirit and his self-confidence. That’s not easy, it takes time and it takes "space." It took me a year to recover from a burglary at gunpoint but how does Rethabile begin to recover from this?
His attackers will soon be sentenced to a long time in jail but what about Rethabile? He is a poor man and the world has other worries. We can give him the space and time he needs to rebuild his life and create a brighter future.
I'm asking each of you for a thought, less than you might tip a restaurant bill, a small $5, because many smalls will help Rethabile build a bright future where he can put this atrocious crime behind him.
