About the 2023 Country 2 Country 4 Cancer Ride
For the 8th year, the 2023 edition of the Country 2 Country 4 Cancer (C2C4C) ride will feature more than 90 Bristol Myers Squibb employees riding in Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and the United Kingdom for nearly 2,200 kilometers from 1-18 September. The total length of the ride is 18 days and will be split into three days per each team. This year is a celebration of 10 years of C2C4C with the inaugural ride taking place in the United States in 2014.
Since 2016, nearly 550 Bristol Myers Squibb employees in Europe have raised more $2.6 million USD through the Country 2 Country 4 Cancer Ride.
In this 2023 edition, six teams will feature riders participating from 19 countries including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, the United States and for the first time, participants from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The goal of C2C4C is to raise awareness for cancer research and European cancer organisations who are members of the UICC.
Raising Funds for Asociatia Daruieste Viata / Give Life Association in Romania
Asociatia Daruieste Viata is a non-profit organization that strives to reform the Romanian healthcare system. It does so by building or refurbishing wards and hospitals, by pushing for legal and policy reforms, by bringing together expertise and resources, and finally by defending the rights and voices of patients.
Who Are the Riders
The participants are novice riders, who have committed themselves to 5 months of intensive training to complete their portion of the ride. Some are cancer survivors, others have witnessed the devastating impact of cancer on friends and family. Their kilometres will help raise funds to fight against cancer by supporting Asociatia Daruieste Viata, a member of the Union for International Cancer Control.
