I, Portia L. Shipman founded the Sherri Denese Jackson for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Inc. (SDJF) in 2008 to help victims of domestic abuse reclaim their lives by breaking free from domestic abuse and educating the community in hopes to save lives. Since then, the Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation has expanded its vision and goals. we have had hundreds of people participate in their programs and have reached thousands, if not millions through public social media and public awareness campaigns.
WE are NOW At-Risk of shutting down due to lack of funding. We have served the community for over 11 years. We don't receive local and govenment funding. We are depending on you to help us move into 2020.
We have been providing FREE awareness, prevention, and educational services, events, workshops and programs to the community since 2008. We have helped establish the grand opening of programs that serve those affected by domestic abuse within the city of Greensboro and county of Guilford.
After the closing of my home care agency in 2018 I have been praying for the last year to keep things together. This has been a financial strain... In August 2019 my newly elected Board of Director's thought it was time to let it be KNOWN that FUNDS are needed to SAVE the Foundation, so we can continue saving lives of women, men and families that are still underserved; especially in the African-American community.

Without your HELP we can not, nor will not, be able to attend middle and high schools in hope to prevent unhealthy relationships. Early PREVENTION is KEY to ending domestic violence!
Without your HELP we will not be able to render educational workshops, (WE) Women Empowering Women, & MEN SPEAK on the signs and traits of an abusive relationship in shelters and workplaces.

(1) Paint the City Purple Campaign our national campaign that sets presidence for all cities, counties and townships to collaborate together to end domestic violence;

(3) A Purple Door House Ministries, a outreach retreat location for domestic violence survivor's in need of repair after 2018 Tornado in Northeast Greensboro, NC; &
