The Palmer Opera House is a vintage theater located in Cuba, New York. This historic theater is steeped with rich character and details of another era. Palmer Opera House was built in 1872, and after a long and rich history fell into disrepair and restoration began in 2006. Thanks to the work and dedication of the Cuba Friends of Architecture, the Opera House has had to be restored over the years but it still retains much of its original character. The Palmer is sustained by the non-profit organization Cuba Friends of Architecture, and revenue streams such as concessions, rentals, and shows help us continue to keep the building functioning within the community.
However, a big, old, historic builiding costs A LOT to maintain, insure, and repair and we could use YOUR help. We are looking for donations to help us soften the burden of an immenent roof repair (~$3,000), as well as some of the fixed operating costs (insurance alone is ~$4,500) that put a strain on our budget. With your help we can help keep bringing you fantastic talent and culture to our small town.
