NC Second Chance CDC hasn't added a story.

Our Story.

North Carolina CDC is a reentry nonprofit with programs that help individuals rebuild their lives and reintegrate into communities by connecting them with resources, support, access to public services, and benefits.

Around 25 percent of North Carolinians have a criminal record and when they complete their sentence they start over. They frequently need a place to live, a job, behavioral and health care services, and support to re-start their lives. In fact, about 95 percent of people in prison will eventually return to their communities and face an enormous set of obstacles as they attempt to reenter society exacerbated by their time incarcerated, race, and socio-economic status.

Our goal is to explore persistent gaps or unmet needs in local reentry support systems and create innovative and promising strategies to address common challenges through partnerships, collaborations, and volunteerism. We aim to build a coordinated reentry referral system, educate community members, create a one-stop reentry shop, provide support and services to economically disadvantaged communities, and promote ongoing collaboration among reentry partners.

How Your Support Makes an Impact.

You can help NC Second Chance CDC raise $75 k to build dedicated support networks in Harnett, Johnston, and Lee Counties, launch new programs, expand existing programs that show promise and establish pilot projects to determine if reentry programs should be scaled up—none of which would be possible without external support from our donors, the public, and government investments.

Take Action.

Give Today through a secured donation, become a monthly donor, support our campaign, and sharing our campaign. We use the power of collaboration to make our work possible.
