Fall of 2008, at just six months old, Mohave (brown/black) and Nellie (tan) were out fending for themselves in south Phoenix trying to survive each day. Mohave had no use of his right, hind leg and was very weak but their bond was too powerful for them to fail survival. They were taken in by a rescue and for the past 10 years have been in and out of foster homes. Although they were much loved throughout the years and had a home, it was never a home they could call their own.

Mohave and Nellie were recently turned over to our rescue after being in a foster home for 4 years. It is sad that they yet again lost their home and had to go back into boarding.

Now, in their old age, they have several things against them. They are a bonded pair, so they MUST go together; they are seniors; they are uncomfortable with active dogs but fine with calm dogs; they are very shy at first with people but fall in love quickly. We won’t let any of those challenges stop them from spending the rest of their years together, in a home to call their OWN. We know there is someone out there that can give them a home and the love they deserve and have wanted their ENTIRE LIVES.

Mohave and Nellie, 9-year-old lab mixes love to explore outdoors and take naps. They are extremely low-maintenance.

However when their advanced age now come several medical challenges.  Both Mohave and Nellie are in need of a dental, both dogs need blood work including a Valley fever test. Mohave's leg and hips needs to be checked out and x-rayed.

All donations made to Lucky Dog Rescue are 100% tax deductible. As a 501 c(3) we rely on  donations from the public.

Please consider helping this very special pair.
