My 8th grade science team has been doing a robotics engineering unit for years.  This is a well known unit throughout Mountain View and students look forward to being in the 8th grade in order to participate.  Once a year in the 8th grade, students walk into the classroom and it looks very different.  Desks and tables are rearranged and two large mission tables are in the center of the classroom.  This is exciting and the beginning of a different style of learning.  Students work in small groups programming and problem solving in order to get Lego Robots to complete different missions.

Our Lego Robots are aging and some have "died" already.  We would like to replace our broken and dead Robots and increase our number of robots in order to allow for students to reach their engineering goals in smaller groups.

Budget:

3 Lego Bricks  3 X $200-            $600

Color Sensors  2 X $42-             $84

Lego Robotics Set 2 X $412-     $824

                                                  ___________

                                                 $ 1,508.00
