In return, we will personally thank you (many times!) and talk about your support online and advertise your sponsorship on our website as a strong supporter of our mission. Every dollar raised goes to the operational expenses we use to assist our friends. We currently assist 1,250 individuals experiencing homelessness per month. Weekly, this equates to 300 warm meals, 200 pair of new socks and undergarments, hundreds of hygiene items, blankets and so much more.

Every item we distribute is a “tool” we use to gain trust within the homeless community. We conduct street outreach three nights per week and “Showers of Hope” which is a once a month opportunity during the warmer months for our friends to come and take a hot shower, receive new clothing, and friendship. Last winter, we hosted an Emergency Warming Shelter at Ascension Lutheran Church who opened their doors for Street Angels and our guests.

We were open a total of 24 nights when the temperature dropped to 10 degrees or below. A direct result of our all-volunteer efforts, we were able to offer 1,700 safe sleeps, which undoubtedly saved lives from the bitter Wisconsin weather. With colder weather approaching, it is our goal to source at least 100, below zero sleeping bags, and other life sustaining supplies such as hand and body warmers. In additional to these much-needed items, funds raised will also be used for the maintenance and upkeep of our outreach vehicles and hopefully raise funds to replace the second bus that has broken down beyond repair. It is our dream to one day have newer vehicles that are consistently reliable.

Street Angels does more than provide a hot meal. We advocate for those who may have lost their voice and work to guide them into the path of permanent supportive housing. Within the last year, we have worked closely with the Milwaukee County Housing Division, Homeless Outreach Nursing Center as well as other agencies, all in an end goal effort of obtaining permanent supportive housing for our friends. We have completed over 40 referrals this year and are happy to report that due to our collaboration with these agencies, all whom have been referred had been placed into housing and supportive programs.
