LiveMore ScreenLess hasn't added a story.
We reached our goal - in just two weeks!
We are honored and humbled by the support from so many. Let's keep building a better future for young people! YOU can play a role in making the FIRST EVER National Youth Digital Wellbeing Leadership Program go deeper and reach further!
We are looking to reach $25,000 in the last 2 weeks of our crowdfunding campaign!
With your help, we can reach this next goal!
LiveMore ScreenLess was founded in 2019 by Maree Hampton and KK Myers as they realized a quiet crisis was brewing among young people - the very group they have spent their careers supporting. When KK witnessed the daily struggles facing her students from constant use of digital devices and with national and statewide student data reporting alarming increases in anxiety, depression and suicide ideation, Maree and KK realized this profound societal challenge needed leadership.
LiveMore ScreenLess recognizes and appreciates the vast benefits that technology brings to our lives. However, evidence is mounting that misuse and overuse of technology is harmful to the health and wellbeing of young people. While research on the effects of screens is emerging, evidence clearly points to a correlation between screen misuse and overuse and rising trends of anxiety and depression among young people, as well as negative effects on physical health, on focus and concentration, and on learning. LiveMore is addressing this crisis by listening to and learning from young people. Our mission is to advocate and promote digital wellbeing for and with young people through a collaborative and comprehensive community approach. Youth voice is the foundation of LiveMore.
Please consider joining us on our mission!
- If you feel overwhelmed by the technology industry’s powerful design and sophisticated algorithms and you are especially worried about its grasp on young people - join us!
- If you feel an urgency to help young people capture some of the joys of childhood you remember - exploring the outdoors, reading books, playing with friends, and being curious (maybe even bored!) - join us!
- If the documentary “The Social Dilemma” left you horrified, sickened and puzzled to know how to support young people - join us!
- If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference - join us!
As we listen to parents, family members, teachers, school administrators and staff, mental health counselors, public health professionals, legislators and business leaders, we hear their deep concern about the impact of technology use on the wellbeing of young people. It is CRITICAL that we face the challenges that screen misuse and overuse has on the health and wellbeing of young people, especially now as the pandemic has forced many students to learn on screens from home.
LiveMore has built a solid foundation and we are scaling up our efforts to fulfill our mission. Our crowdfunding campaign seeks to raise critical funds so that LiveMore can further Amplify Youth Voice and Launch Digital Wellbeing initiatives.
You can make a difference by supporting LiveMore’s initiatives to:
- Build a collection of Youth Digital Wellbeing Stories - Written, video, art, spoken word, and music to amplify young people’s experience in the 24/7 digital world and make them available as a powerful educational and awareness tool for use in schools, after school programming, community nonprofits and homes.
- Develop an inquiry-based National Digital Wellbeing Leadership Training and Certificate Program for Young People and Adults - this “train the trainer,” peer to peer model will expand Digital Wellbeing awareness, knowledge and skills to youth and adults throughout the country.
- Record Professionally-Produced Parenting Podcasts with local and national Digital Wellbeing experts - add to LiveMore’s robust, research-based, one-stop-shop Parent Toolkit so that parents have what they need to promote digital wellbeing for their family.
DONATE TODAY. CHANGE TOMORROW.
Support the lift-off of an organization deeply committed to fortifying the future so all young people can thrive in a digital age, now and through adulthood. Every tax-deductible donation, whether it’s $10, $100, or $10,000, goes directly to LiveMore ScreenLess, a federally recognized 501(c)(3).
Thank you for considering supporting LiveMore ScreenLess. Promoting healthy use of screens has never been more important. Please share this campaign with your network. Be well!

The first FIVE people to contribute $25 will receive the light-hearted and helpful book How to Break Up with Your Phone by Catherine Price. Here is a brief description from Maree's book review: Price continues to recognize what she appreciates about her phone; at the same time, she is adamant that we all need to be aware of the harmful effects of phone use. She is convinced that phones are having a serious effect on our relationships, our brains (especially for young ones), and the way we are engaging in the world.
