The Katimavik National Experience is a 6-month program that supports young people in their efforts to become agents of change, supporters of Truth and Reconciliation, contributors to an eco-friendly and sustainable world, and advocates for inclusiveness and diversity.
Diverse youth from across the country will be arriving in 6 communities this January, ready to begin a journey of shaping a better Canada through volunteerism, community engagement, and meaningful actions to advance Truth and Reconciliation.
Katimavik Volunteers are young Canadians aged 18 – 25 who are passionate about bringing positive change to communities. They are eager to learn and are motivated to work as a team to implement innovative solutions to create a better Canada.
Support a movement of youth change-makers
These young people are ready and eager to make positive change. But they need your help for the first step of the journey. By supporting Katimavik Volunteers, you are investing in the future leaders of our country and are contributing to the development of quality, life-changing experiences for youth.
Each Volunteer has a goal of fundraising $1000 to contribute towards the costs of their participation in the National Experience. These funds will help provide additional activities and resources to enhance the Volunteers’ learning experience. Some examples of how the funds will be used include:
- Inviting professionals from various disciplines to facilitate a workshop or learning session;
- Purchasing supplies for a group community project, such as a community garden or mini-library;
- Investing in bicycles to use as an eco-friendly means of transport; or
- Covering travel costs to visit an Indigenous community to learn about their culture and history.

- Inviter des professionnels de divers domaines d’expertises pour animer un atelier ou une séance d’apprentissage;
- Acheter des fournitures pour l’élaboration d’un projet collectif, tel qu’un jardin communautaire ou une mini-bibliothèque;
