Support JEFAS Magazine and Amplify Latina Entrepreneurs
JEFAS
Magazine was founded in 2024 with a simple but urgent purpose: to make
sure Latina entrepreneurs in Iowa and Nebraska are seen, heard, and
taken seriously.
Too often, Latina women are building businesses, supporting their families, leading in their communities, and creating real economic impact without the visibility or recognition they deserve. Their stories are powerful. Their leadership is real. But too often, those stories go untold.
JEFAS was created to change that.
We are more than a magazine. JEFAS is a platform that tells the stories of Latina entrepreneurs with care, depth, pride, and a Midwest perspective. We highlight women who are building something of their own, often while carrying much more than a title can capture. They are founders, creators, and leaders. They are also mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, and the backbone of their families and communities.
This is who we write for.
This is who we are building with.
We hope you join us in bringing these worthy stories to life.
![]() | This work is personal to me. When I first arrived in the United States, I did not speak English. What I did have was determination. Over time, I learned that one of the most powerful ways to overcome fear is to help others move forward with purpose. That belief lives at the heart of JEFAS. We created this publication because Latinas in Iowa and Nebraska deserve more than occasional attention. They deserve a space built with them in mind. A space that honors their work, preserves their stories, and reflects the depth of what they are building. When you support JEFAS, you are helping make that possible. You are helping us continue telling stories that matter. You are helping us grow a platform rooted in visibility, connection, and respect. You are helping ensure that Latina entrepreneurs in our communities do not have to build without being seen. |
What JEFAS Means in Real Life
“Working with JEFAS Magazine has been one of the most meaningful collaborations of my career.
I met the team about a year ago at a networking event and immediately felt aligned with their mission: uplifting Latina entrepreneurs in Omaha and rural Nebraska and creating real networks of support rooted in community, dignity, and opportunity.
Before we ever worked together, I shared that I’m gender-expansive and queer, and asked whether there was space for me in a platform centered around women. Their response was immediate and affirming: there is space for you here. That moment set the tone for everything that followed.
Since then, I’ve photographed more than 15 features for the magazine and have had the honor of meeting incredible business owners, hearing their stories, and capturing them in a way that reflects how they want to be seen. JEFAS does not just highlight businesses. They invest in people, in their stories, and in the artistry of how those stories are told.
Through this community, I’ve also built meaningful relationships, including a connection with Erika from DelaSanchas Spotless Cleaning, who has become both a collaborator and someone who has deeply influenced how I think about business and impact.
Being featured in the magazine also expanded my own network. Other JEFAS reached out after reading my story, creating connections that would not have existed otherwise.
What makes JEFAS Magazine truly powerful is that it is building something tangible and lasting. Through its events, print magazine, and community presence, it is creating visible, real pathways of connection for immigrant entrepreneurs in Omaha. It is showing that we are here, building businesses, supporting our communities, and working toward a more equitable future together.
Supporting this organization means investing in a community that is actively creating opportunity, connection, and impact.
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of it.”
