The Samadhilegacy Foundation hasn't added a story.
When Kathy rescued Henry, she was delighted when she found a
great home for him. A young mom and dad, a couple of kids; even
another dog for him to play with. It was a huge success and she
was always so grateful this darling boy got a wonderful home.
All went well until two years ago, when Henry lost feeling in
his back legs. There was no feeling there at all; he couldn't even
wag his tail. Kathy was brought back in. We stand by our dogs for
their entire lives.
It was a mystery: Lots of tests and
x-rays. Lots of guessing; but everyone flummoxed Why couldn't he
walk? He couldn't even stand. What was going on?
The owners, for the first year, did their best. There was a
procedure we wanted to try, but the doctor whose care Henry was
under, was less than hopeful for anything to work and his owners
didn't want to try it. We were paying for Henry's care during this
time, hoping for a miracle. Henry got around by dragging himself
and the situation was not ideal.
About a year into this situation, the owners called Kathy and
said that it was time to put Henry to sleep. 'His quality of life
is not good,' they told her. He had started to soil himself, as he
couldn't get outside quickly enough.
That was our cue: We were able to step in and take our boy back.
We believe in no-kill as long as the animal isn't suffering.
Henry was not in pain; but he couldn't walk! It was our turn to
see if we could find something to help and we started the new
procedure we had discovered online: It's called Acuscope.
Of course, it has cost us a small fortune: for a while Henry
had to stay at the vet for his special needs. Now we have him with
us at our facility.
Henry must travel regularly to LA for his treatments. Between
the travel & the treatments themselves; bills are racking up
at an alarming rate.
We have news to share with you: IT WORKED!!! THE ACUSCOPE WORKED!!!!!
We may be broke, but our Henry can stand and walk! He's a bit
wobbly, but with each treatment he is getting better and you know
what? It WILL continue to get better each time!
We want you to see Henry's journey at the start, his video
shows a sad, scared, extremely depressed boy, trapped in a high
kill shelter; because no one wanted him. The second video shows
our beautiful Henry today; a sweet, adult dog, who has had a rough
couple of years and is finally getting on his feet (excuse the
pun). Henry is a special dog to us of course, but in reality he's
a special dog to everyone. Whoever he comes into contact with,
just simply falls in love with him.
So please watch his first video, of a young, frightened Henry
just days before he was rescued and the video taken just a few
days ago, of Henry, going through his physical therapy.
Then if you believe we MUST carry on till he is back to his
wonderful self, please donate to our most darling Henry. The dog
who was responsible for The Samadhi Legacy Foundation starting all
those years ago. We also are looking for a special needs foster in
Los Angeles (near Glendora ideal) and an adopter!! Henry is one of
the most special dogs we know! Adopter will not be responsible for
the cure of Henry- that is our mission!
So once again, please
join our battle and donate to our gorgeous boy's fundraiser. Henry
deserves to have his story continue.
