The Alpha Beta Chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity was founded at the University of Georgia on December 9, 1878, making it one of the university's oldest established chapters. Since that time, Alpha Beta has come to produce some of the university's most accomplished alumni and finest students, including Mr. Earl Leonard, retired Coca-Cola executive and benefactor of the Leonard Leadership Program, and Mr. Bernard Ramsey, endower of the Ramsey Center and Ramsey Scholarship.

Alpha Beta prides itself in a commitment to Brotherhood and strives to maintain a standard of excellence in academics, athletics, community service, and campus involvement. Our brothers actively support a dedication to philanthropy, with ATO raising over $35,000 over the past two years for various philanthropies such as UGA Miracle and UGA HEROs. Furthermore, the chapter actively participates in the local Relay For Life supporting The American Cancer Society. The Brothers of ATO are actively involved in the campus community through various organizations, societies, and leadership positions including Tate Society, the Leonard Leadership Program, Order of Omega, LEAD scholar program, Orientation Leaders, Georgia Recruitment Team, The Alumni Association, UGA Hero's and Dawg Camp staff among others. Furthermore, Alpha Beta's recent Pledge Classes have boasted some of the highest GPAs among fraternities.

Alpha Tau Omega enjoys a consistently full social calendar, along with a prominent tailgating spot located in front plaza of the Miller Learning Center at which we enjoy exciting and enthusiastic game days. Our events range from numerous socials and date nights, to The White Tea Rose Spring Formal in St. Augustine and the spring tradition of Viking, a historic ATO week long event, providing a proper ending to the semester.
