Phoenix Youth Circus Arts (PYCA) uses the fun and creative world of circus arts to teach skills that build the mind, body, and self-esteem in children and youth of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Through the learning and performing of individual and group circus acts, students develop healthy bodies, confident spirits, and valuable capacities for cooperation and trust in a challenging, but non-competitive environment.

PYCA began in 2015 with a single class and now holds classes, camps, and workshops all over the Phoenix area. We bring mats and other circus equipment wherever it is needed to teach juggling, balancing, acrobatics, aerial arts, and clowning. We work at schools, recreation centers, festivals, and arts centers around the region. Whenever possible, a sequence of classes culminates in a performance.

Many of our classes are in title-1 schools (low income areas) where options for after-school activities and performing arts are limited. The classes are low or no cost to its participants. Where students are expected to pay a fee, we maintain a "no one turned away for lack of funds" policy and/or offer scholarships and discounts so "everyone can join the circus".

Circus arts are unique in their ability to foster social-emotional development in a limitless and flexible environment for play. Circus is universally appealing – under its magic spell boundaries of language, culture, age, or class disappear.

We need your help to offer more scholarships and supply our classes with additional equipment!

• $50 sends a child to circus camp for a day or buys a rola bola;
• $75 provides a new pair of stilts.
• $100 sends a youth to our new performing troupe program for a month.
• $1000 buys a new mat and another $1000 buys a mini-trampoline.
