Hello from farmer Christopher. I was born and raised in Sonoma County with an agriculture and livestock heritage spanning seven generations. In 2020, I founded Deep Roots Farm and am committed to sustainability. We practice low to no till farming, incorporation of symbiotic relationships between predator and prey for pest management, composting and humane pasturing of livestock.

Deep Roots Farm is also committed to its extended family - our farm stand customers and over 75 CSA members - and creating community. I have fond memories of my childhood running around outside the family farms and ranches, and I want share this exploratory environment with all farm visitors. In addition to picking up fresh produce, local beef and pasture raised eggs, I invite you to explore. Enjoy a picnic lunch, visit the chickens, cows and our pig, stroll the grounds along the walking trail . . . and just slow down. 

Here's How You Can Help Us GROW

We want to make Deep Roots Farm more educational, engaging and a respite from daily life. Here are our goals -

• Install owl boxes. Why? Because owls are natural pest control! They prey on gophers, mice and voles at night that love to eat our crops.
• Add raptor perches. Raptors are natural pest control too, and they catch their prey during the day.
• More u-pick crops. We tested this last summer and it was a huge success - children loved picking their own strawberries and tomatoes!
• Expand our petting zoo! There's interest in more and diverse animals, and we need additional fencing and feed.
• We could use a few more picnic tables. Visitors enjoy the opportunity to take a breather, appreciate the surrounding beauty and make new friends.
