Hi! My name is Debbie Hernandez and I'm the Library Media Assistant at Cedar Park Middle School.  I would like to get a book into 
all 866 students' hand by the end of this school year.  A lot of our students have not been able to get to libraries this school year and
have been reading less. If we give them a book of their own, this would encourage them to read more and get excited about
new adventures and places that are in books.  During Scholastic Book Fairs, the students get very excited about buying new books but a lot of 
them can't afford to buy so it would be great to be able to hand them a book at no charge.
We would distribute these books at the end of the school year as a summer reading project.  This will encourage more reading
during summer and by rewarding with more books purchased with the credit we will receive from Scholastic.  I can use the money raised to buy books through the Book Fair and instantly received Scholastic dollars back to buy even more books!

BEF mobilizes community resources to fund innovative classroom projects, summer and after-school programs.
