COVID Survivors for Change hasn't added a story.
COVID Survivors for Change is a nationwide community of survivors fighting for a stronger pandemic response to save lives by supporting survivors, remembering those who have died, and advocating for public health measures to prevent future pandemics. We do this by offering trauma informed resources and programs, sharing and amplifying survivor stories, and taking action to bring about legislative and cultural change. Our volunteers are active in all 50 states, have trained more than 700 COVID survivors on advocacy and self-care, and have provided more than 2,100 hours of support with mental health professionals.
Please meet three Covid-19 survivors
A coronavirus survivor is anyone who has had their life turned on its head because of this pandemic. We honor people who have survived the Covid-19 virus without lingering symptoms. We honor those whose symptoms lasted far after they tested negative for the virus. We honor those whose livelihoods disappeared, or grew dangerous, overnight. And we honor the people who were killed by the pandemic, along with their loved ones who survived, but whose lives were forever changed. We honor our stories and our trauma, and we commit to taking action together .
In Memory of Kathleen A. Best, Whose Life of Adventure was Halted by Long Haul COVIDIn March of 2020 I was 69 and living my dream
life. I was in my 7th year of being a nomad,
living in my conversion van, wandering the
country, volunteering in state parks and having
awesome experiences and meeting new
friends. | The Story of Alicia Roxanne James, A Woman Currently Living the Nightmare of Long CovidI was working at major grocery store where I
caught covid 19. It was the week of thanksgiving
when I started coughing and wheezing, but I just
thought I was having an Asthma
attack. | In Memory of Anna Belle Carter, An Amazing Daughter, Sister, and 13-Year-Old Stolen by COVIDOur beautiful 13 year old daughter Anna died
from Covid on July 10th 2020. She became tired
starting on Tuesday and had a little muscle
fatigue, which was not out of the ordinary
because she had scleroderma, an autoimmune disease. |
