Hemafuse is the Solution

Hemafuse is a novel, handheld device that enables surgeons to capture and reuse a trauma patient's blood. Hemafuse is completely mechanical and can be used regardless of infrastructure. For more information visit Sisu Global's website.

Hemafuse first arrived in Ukraine in April 2022. Since then, doctors have used Hemafuse to perform intraoperative blood transfusions at the following hospitals: Kyiv Heart Institute, Kyiv Hospital No. 17, 10th City Clinical Hospital, Shalimov Institute, and Eb 117, a special military unit that is providing emergency care in the field.

Hemafuse has allowed doctors to recycle blood from patients with internal bleeding, reducing the need for donor blood, and is serving as a critical, life-saving instrument in Ukraine at this very moment.

How Hemafuse Works:

Together, we can support medical staff in Ukraine and provide a blood supply for the increasing demand for trauma surgeries.  

Your 100% tax-deductible donation to FINCA, a 501(c)(3), will allow FINCA to expand its partnership with Sisu Global, the manufacturer of Hemafuse, to support surgeries in Ukraine.

What We Need

Doctors are urgently requesting more Hemafuse units in Ukraine. At the start of our initiative, we were seeking financial support of $110,000 to deliver Hemafuse devices for 1,000 surgeries in Ukraine. With your help, we have exceeded our goal and have shipped a total of 1,005 surgeries worth of Hemafuse to hospitals throughout Ukraine.  We have increased our funding goal to $165,000 to support another donation of 500 surgeries, which will take the total surgeries donated to 1,500.

Each donation of $110 will support blood for one surgery. Hemafuse can capture and return up to 3 units of blood (~1.5L) in a single surgery, which is equivalent to 3 people donating blood.

$165,000 will cover costs, such as material, production, translation fees, training fees, and shipping. We stand united with Ukraine to ensure patients don't die due to lack of blood.

How We'll Execute

We will provide Ukrainian doctors with the amount of Hemafuse units necessary to continue saving lives in Ukraine. 

Sisu Global has shipped 1,005 surgeries worth of Hemafuse to Poland. The first Hemafuse shipment was received by Synergy of Life, then delivered to medical personnel on the frontline in Ukraine. We would like to thank Twin Global for facilitating this donation, a partnership recommended by Sisu board member Dr. Geoff Ling . We are proud to have partnered with great organizations along the way in the US, Poland, and Ukraine.

We are in active discussions with additional organizations about receiving Hemafuse units in this fast-evolving situation to ensure Hemafuse has the maximum impact.
