Erin Gettling hasn't added a story.
My name is Erin Gettling, and I'm a third-grade teacher at Bethany Elementary. As is the case for many students across the country, my students have been learning from home for the past year, and we are now preparing to return to in-person instruction.
As I organize my classroom, keeping my students safe and engaged are my top two priorities. To do this, I need more supplies for reading, math, and art projects. This will enable each student to have individual books, math materials, and other supplies to use safely.
The money raised from this project will go to purchasing books at a variety of reading levels, additional math manipulatives, and supplies for art projects.
- Additional books will allow each student to have enough books to read at their reading level, and will limit the need to quarantine books that multiple students want to read.
- Additional math supplies will allow each student (both those learning in person and those continuing online) to have their own set of supplies to use safely.
- Engaging art projects will be a wonderful screen-free enrichment activity after so much time spent learning online.
I can’t wait to return to in-person learning, and neither can my students! With help from the Beaverton’s Choice grant, I’ll have enough supplies to make the transition back to school joyful, engaging, and safe. Thank you!
