For my birthday this year, in lieu of gifts, I’m asking for help towards raising $2500 to sponsor a table at the Sound Off Veterans Day luncheon.

Sound Off is a non profit organization that has built an app to anonymously connect Veterans with free, consistent, and reliable mental health support (licensed clinicians and peer networks) that WILL answer the calls of struggling Veterans.

My friend James Patrick is the Chairman of the Sound Off Board. He spent several years serving in the Special Operations community as a US Army Green Beret. A number of his friends and colleagues returned from multiple combat deployments with invisible scars of war that have lasted for years.

One such friend of his, Bill Mulder (an elite SEAL Team 6 operator) tragically took his life in 2017. It turns out that Bill was also brother-in-law to James’ UT MBA classmate William Negley, founder and CEO of Sound Off. Please listen to Bill and Sydney's incredibly moving story.

Each year, billions are spent in an attempt to treat Post Traumatic Stress and related conditions; however, little attention is given to structuring treatment in ways that are culturally, psychologically, and logistically accessible. Substantial research indicates that half of Veterans and Service Members who likely meet the diagnosis of major depression or PTSD do not seek help due to concerns over personal and professional blowback, bureaucratic and geographic obstacles, or a lack of trust in medical professionals. Effectively supporting the men and women who served our nation requires an approach that addresses these barriers, decreasing the probability of adverse and irreversible outcomes. Sound Off was designed from the ground up to do exactly that. Learn more here:

This technology is game-changing for our community and life-changing for Veterans. I really want to support James and honor his friends and colleagues by sponsoring a table at this upcoming event. See the attached document for more information about the luncheon. Please pass it along to anyone you think may be interested!
Thank you in advance for your support! ❤️
