Help the Aloha Marching Ensemble get to the 2023 NWAPA Marching Championships!

The Aloha Marching Ensemble is asking for assistance in making the trip to the 2023 NWAPA Championships in Autzen Stadium on October 28th. The Aloha Band received a randomly selected very early performance time that requires them to spend the night prior in order to attend this year's culminating competition. This was not a foreseen barrier, and without the funding to spend the night, the band will be unlikely able to go to the competition. This funding is needed by October 15th in order to secure our rooms and make our preparations,

Last year, the Aloha Marching Ensemble members, the amazing staff members, and the parent volunteers brought the Aloha band back to the excellence in the school's earlier days by winning first place at every competition and scoring high enough to perform in the final round at the NWAPA Championships in 2022. Besides the competitive success, the championships performance brought students together in a way that no other competition could as the culminating performance of the season. Many students felt that it was a transformative experience that cannot be replaced. The Aloha Band strives to teach personal responsibility, sportsmanship, community building, and lifelong skills both as a musician and a person. Championships is a large part of this personal development!

About the program:
The Aloha band program has been steadily growing in both numbers and quality of performances prior to covid and especially in the past two years. The program is comprised of the Aloha Marching Ensemble, Indoor Percussion program, Concert Percussion, Winter Guard, Color Guard, jazz bands, pep bands, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. You can see the pep band perform at the Aloha home football games getting the crowd and players pumped up!

Honors and awards: 
In the 2022-23 school year alone, the program accomplished the following achievements:

-The marching ensemble won 1st place at the Sherwood Show, Century Showcase, and NWAPA Championships in Division A, in addition to many caption awards.

-The marching ensemble performed in the finals round at the NWAPA Championships for the first time in Aloha's history in 15 years.

-Aliyah Jackson, Director of Bands, was recognized by the National Band Association with a Certificate of Merit for Marching Excellence

-The Aloha Warrior Winter Guard won 3rd place in the Regional A Class

-The first ever Aloha Indoor Percussion season began and competed at two competitions

-The Aloha Wind Ensemble qualified for the OSAA State Band Contest and was selected to perform at the OSAA Championships with the state's top 20 6A ensembles for the first time in 16 years.
