Spheros Bolt robots are really amazing. They offer so many options for projects across the curriculum from coding light shows to music, to programming the robot to navigate a maze. These amazing little devices can be used in so many ways to engage our students in science and technology, exploration, and inquiry.

Many students at ACMA & BASE have enjoyed the variety of coding projects that can be explored using Spheros robots. I share one set between both schools in my work as a TOSA (teacher on special assignment) at both. Unfortunately, the set we currently have is a bit old and tired and the batteries no longer hold a charge. This means that we are severely limited in the types of projects we can do...since each robot has to be plugged in to function (and sometimes even that doesn't work). It's been very frustrating for students to try and work with our set and its limited capabilities. On top of that, we currently only have 12 robots-so there are really not enough for a full class of students.

Our goal is to purchase a new class set of 15 Spheros robots for both ACMA and BASE so our students will be able to code "unplugged"  and learn without limits!  Plus, since ACMA & BASE are partnering up for this campaign we will be able to combine our robot supply as needed, for a full class set of 30 (great for individual student projects).

We really hope you will consider supporting this project. The combined set of 30 Spheros at a cost of $5350 will provide students from ACMA & BASE with many opportunities to learn to code and to see their code in action. We cannot wait!
