FEEDING OUR FILMMAKERS' DREAMS

We at Film Kids hate to tell our filmmakers "no". When a young person comes up with an idea for a movie, with the light in their eyes, we want to say "yes!", even if that means bringing in more costumes, editing longer hours or building film-specific props and set pieces.

Maybe it involves gallons of ketchup and mustard for the Hot Dog Assassin victims, or the cockpit we built for our astronaut character, or all the fake plants to fulfill the Witch's curse.  There's cameras, too, and tripods, and green screens, and of course the 12,000+ snacks we supply to our filmmakers' every semester!

PRODUCTION BUDGETS

Unfortunately in the film world, dreams cost money.  Film Kids pays our talented instructors to guide these young filmmakers and edit footage outside of club time, but there's growing pains in the nuts and bolts of production as we add more schools and have to acquire more gear to serve them.

You can help instructors have the time to focus on filmmaking, and not have to limit our creative ideas due to time or money constraints.  

HOW YOUR HELP MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Your donation directly affects what the characters wear, the special effects we incorporate and the level of creativity we instill in our young artists.  We anticipate 150 young filmmakers this year and about 100 films, screened to families and friends on fifteen different school campuses, and you can contribute to those stories, characters, and the personal growth that comes with collaborative artistry.
