At Tender Funerals, we believe funerals and funeral care should be meaningful, authentic, and affordable.

Tender Funerals is a registered charity that ensures that our community is able to access personalised, meaningful and affordable funerals. A benevolent fund further supports people in financial need.

Through community education we encourage conversations about death and planning for death.

We provide a full range of services including after death care, funeral/celebration arrangements and body disposal and we invite families into the process by providing choice and opportunity for participation, supporting healthy bereavement.

A community venture, we operate in ways that do not leave community members with large debt. Kindness is at the heart of what we do and we always put people and relationships first.

After three years of committed volunteer effort by our community, we will be ready to open our doors in April 2022. Some of you may have already contributed to making this happen through giving time or money to this important social venture. We thank you for your support!

Our Vision - A Healing Garden

Much of 2021 was taken up by finding a home for Tender. We bought land, developed plans for a building and constructed our home-to-be in Wauchope, on the beautiful NSW Mid North Coast.

Our building is located on a large block of land, which is currently bare but has the potential to become an integral part of what we do at Tender.

We envisage giving to the land by returning native trees, bushes and grasses to it, improving the soil and creating natural habitat.

We will take care of the land and the land will take care of us by providing a healing environment.

Our native garden will be integral to what we do. Nature plays such an important role in healing. We can feel held and cared for by nature and an awareness of the beauty always present in the natural environment can provided glimpses of hope when all hope seems to be lost.

How You Can Support us

You can support the establishment of our garden by choosing an item (or more) from our wishlist (see side panel) and donating a specific amount or by making a donation of an amount of your choosing. All donations are fully tax deductible and a receipt will be emailed to you.

2021 has been a difficult year for all of us, and 2022 isn't exactly shaping up any better just yet, so let’s create some good energy by creating something wonderful that will support our community in years to come.

A Thank You For Your Contribution

All contributors to this campaign will be acknowledged through a community art piece containing gum leaves inscribed with the names of everyone who contributed to our campaign. This piece will be displayed in the foyer of our Tender funeral site and officially unveiled at our launch event.
